The Canterbury Episcopal School

The 2008 Varsity Girls Volleyball Team will be a mixture of young talent and good senior leadership. Four sophomores are expected to return to the team after getting a good amount of playing time as freshmen. Two seniors know what it is like to win it all as they were part of the 2005 state champions.

Scott Vaughan will be in his 4th year as head coach of the Lady Cougars. Steve Flores will lead the JV team, which had a great season last year, and Jeff Ellis will assist the varsity squad.

The 2008 season schedule includes tournaments at Dallas Christian (Mesquite), Bracken Christian (San Antonio), and a scheduled tournament outside the state of Texas, where the team will visit colleges while participating in the tourney. Last year the girls got to visit Pepperdine University and UCLA as they played in Malibu, CA.

Two middle school teams will be playing during the 2008 season. The advanced "A" team will compete against other school teams. The intra-squad "B" team will play mainly intra-squad games with a few interschool competitions. Both teams will be chosen from players within the 6th - 8th grades.
